The petrochemical heating furnace only has a preheating section and a heating section for heating small broken fabric blanks.

It is customary to divide the furnace section according to the heating zone where the burners are installed in the furnace. According to the number of heating zones, the furnace is called one-stage, two-stage, even five-stage, six-stage, etc. In the 1950s and 1960s, due to the increased capacity of the rolling mill, the length of the pusher furnace was limited by the length of the pusher. Therefore, the heating zone was increased at the feed end and the preheating section that did not supply heat was eliminated to improve Productivity per furnace bottom area. When the slab is heated by this kind of furnace, the output per unit area of ​​the furnace bottom reaches 900-1000 kg/(m2·hour), and the heat consumption is about (0.5-0.65)×106 kcal/ton. Since the 1970s, due to the need for energy saving, and because the new walking furnace allows the length of the furnace to be increased, a preheating section without heating has been added. The output per unit area of ​​the furnace bottom is 600-650 kg/(m2·hour). The heat consumption is about (0.3～0.5)×106 kcal/ton.
